Dolphins – Eagles LIVE: Players warm up for SNF in Philadelphia – Marca English

Sunday Night Football this week could feasibly be the first of two meetings this season between the Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 5-1 Eagles host the 5-1 Dolphins in a possible preview of Super Bowl LVIII, which will be played in Las Vegas next February. This battle of top-five offenses will include some of the NFL’s biggest stars — Philadelphia tandem Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown on one side, Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill on the other.

Kickoff from “the Linc” is scheduled for 8:20 ET.

Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles: NFL Week 7 Sunday Night Football, live updates from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA:

This is the 16th all-time meeting between the Dolphins and the Eagles. Miami has the edge, 9-6, in the previous 15 games against Philadelphia — and the Fins won their last trip to Philly back in 2015.

Dolphins offense remains on a historic pace

Miami has been the talk of the NFL world as the season nears its halfway point. The Dolphins are #1 in scoring and #1 total offense, buoyed the MVP-caliber play of now-healthy quarterback Tagovailoa.

Tua this season has completed 71 percent of his passes for 1,876 yards, and he’s tossed 14 touchdowns against five interceptions. Hill, his top target, is on pace to shatter the single-season record for receiving yards — he is on pace for over 2,300 yards, more than 300 yards greater than Calvin Johnson‘s 2012 total of 1,964.

The Dolphins’ rushing attack will miss injured rookie De’Von Achane, but Raheem Mostert is also on pace for a career season. He has accrued 574 yards from scrimmage and 11 total touchdowns in six weeks. Overall, Miami is on track to score 632 points in 2023, which would be a league record.

Eagles trying to bounce back

Philadelphia, the reigning NFC champions, will hope to come out on top in this battle of former Alabama quarterbacks Tagovailoa and Hurts.

The Eagles suffered a shocking loss to the New York Jets last week, as Hurts threw three interceptions and the Philadelphia offense was held to under 400 total yards for just the second time this year. Hurts has struggled for consistency since signing a lucrative contract extension, as he’s tossed as many touchdowns (seven) as interceptions (seven) in 2023.

While the Eagles have a top-ranked rush defense, their passing defense ranks in the bottom half of the NFL. This will be a huge challenge for the unit against the high-flying Dolphins’ aerial attack.
