Why ‘FBoy Island’s’ Katie Thurston Isn’t Interested In Dating on Television Again (Exclusive)

Katie Thurston is saying, “F-boy, f-bye” to dating on TV.

The former Bachelorette star is currently taking another shot at love on Season 3 of FBoy Island, alongside model Hali Okeowo and influencer Daniella Grace. Together, the three women pick through 24 men — attempting to figure out which ones are the self-proclaimed “nice guys,” as opposed to the dreaded “F-boys” — in the hopes of finding a partner who will split the show’s coveted $100,000 cash prize.

But, even though she’s teased to appear on Bachelor in Paradise later this season, Thurston says FBoy Island might be the last time she dates in front of a camera.

“I would prefer to just quit being single and going on reality shows,” she exclusively told The Messenger. “In a perfect world, FBoy Island is the last dating reality TV show I do.”

FBoy Island, of course, is slightly different than the Bachelor franchise, since it follows more than one lead searching for love. That made FBoy Island a better experience than her previous series, Thurston said, because there was a “sisterhood” around to support her.

The Bachelor, The Bachelorette — it’s a very lonely experience,” she said. “This was the opposite of that. I had them there with me every single day for an entire month. I don’t believe I would have been able to survive it without them.”

Of course, only time will tell who Thurston ends up with at the end of FBoy Island. During the first few episodes of Season 3, the comedian makes a connection with fellow reality star Vince Xu, who starred on Prime Video’s The One that Got Away.

But, during tonight’s episode, three former contestants made a shock return — including fellow comedian Benedict Polizzi, who quickly struck up a relationship with Thurston. And, according to Thurston, his appearance wasn’t exactly a coincidence.

“Benedict was someone I had on my list in watching Season 2. I really liked his personality,” she recalled. “Seeing him make it so far, only to not be picked, I was like, ‘Benedict’s my type. Can we bring him back on my season? Like, is that an option?’ [The producers] were like, ‘Well, that’s fun, because he’s available, and we’re just gonna go ahead and bring him back!'”

However, there might be trouble in paradise between Thurston and her top choices. In the middle of the season, the remaining hopefuls are forced to reveal what they came in as — F-boy or Nice Guy — and the Seattle native said one admission in particular rocks the series.

“You think you know who someone is, and there’s a moment later in the season where the reveal really messes you up,” she teased. “You are questioning everything.”

Find out who this mystery man is when new episodes of FBoy Island air Monday nights at 8/7c on The CW.
