ACC announces television assignment for Syracuse football vs. Pittsburgh at Yankee Stadium
Syracuse, N.Y. —Syracuse football’s matchup against Pittsburgh at Yankee Stadium on Nov. 11 will air on the ACC Network.
The ACC announced the television assignment for the game on Monday. The game has a previously announced kickoff time of 3:30 p.m.
Both programs are struggling ahead of the matchup in the Bronx.
Syracuse has lost four straight games, the latest a 38-10 defeat to Virginia Tech on Thursday night. The Orange return home for the first time since Sept. 30 to face Boston College on Friday night.
Pitt was blown out by Notre Dame 58-7 in South Bend on Saturday. It was the most lopsided loss of head coach Pat Narduzzi’s career and Pitt’s worst since a 60-6 defeat to Notre Dame in 1996. Pitt will host No. 4 Florida State on Nov. 4 before facing the Orange.
Pittsburgh is SU’s most frequent opponent in football, with the Panthers owning a 43-32-2 edge in the series. Pitt has won 16 of the last 18 meetings between the two.
The Syracuse-Pittsburgh game was flexed from the JMA Wireless Dome to Yankee Stadium to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first college football game hosted at the iconic venue.
“It’s a unique opportunity,” Wildhack told syracuse.com when the game was announced. “I do think for the vast majority of people, you would not think that Syracuse and Pitt played the first college football game in Yankee Stadium. So to celebrate that, to me it’s kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Syracuse is 7-3 all-time in games played at Yankee Stadium.
