TECUMSEH — Tom Daldin and Jim Edelman, known for their work on the PBS television show “Under the Radar Michigan” and book of the same name will make their way to Tecumseh Thursday, Nov. 2, for an “inspirational story of reinvention and discovery.”
The Tecumseh District Library, 215 N. Ottawa St., will host Daldin and Edelman for a program titled “Under the Radar Michigan: How it all Started,” scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. The event has been made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Tecumseh District Library. There is no cost to attend, and registration is not required.
“Under the Radar Michigan” is an Emmy Award winning television program that airs on PBS and features the people, places and things that make Michigan a great place to be, a news release from the library said.
“It’s fun, fast paced and we talk to real Michigan people, and tell real Michigan success stories,” Daldin and Edelman said in the release about their television show. “We pack a ton of positive information and energy into every program.”
Thursday’s in-person presentation will focus on why the two men started the show, what makes them continue working on the show and some of the best stories from their travels around Michigan.
Patrons are encouraged to ask questions and bring their sense of adventure and humor with them, the library said, “because when Tom and Jim start talking it’s a wild and crazy ride.”
A book signing will immediately follow the presentation. “The First 50, Next 50, and Yet Another 50” can be signed by Daldin and Edelman and will be available for purchase.

Daldin, from Birmingham, Michigan, is an Emmy Award winning producer, actor and writer who has created television programs that have aired across Michigan and around the United States on PBS. He also has won a number of “best actor” awards in both commercial television and industrial films, the release said.
At the age of 12, he joined the World Adventure Series Club at the Detroit Institute of Arts where, the library said, his mother would drop him off to watch travelogue films. He graduated from Oakland University with a degree in journalism. He, his wife Cathy and their two children “have turned Michigan into their vacation playground, exploring its many wonders and attractions,” the library said.

Edelman’s path to television took him from radio talk show producer to radio promotion director to radio sales manager and to national radio sales before making the jump to TV.
“Jim’s attention to detail, idea generation and the sales chops to keep the show funding flowing, help complete the circle of skills for ‘Under the Radar Michigan,’” the release said. “…His love of storytelling and searching for off-beat, little known stories really makes his day.”
Edelman attended several colleges but he learned more working for the Detroit Pistons, as a ski instructor, a cycle racing producer, tomato picker and a baker’s assistant, the library said.
He is from Salem, Michigan, and is the proud owner of three cats.
