This 110-minute show starts at 7 p.m. at 617 Broadway with multi-media is the story of Don’s career as told by his daughter, who also narrates as Don’s favorite aunt, Emma and even Aunt Bea, according to a news release.

In the 1960s sitcom, Don portrayed Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife on “The Andy Griffith Show”; and from 1979 to 1984, he played Ralph Furley on the highly rated sitcom “Three’s Company.”

Karen will share fond memories of her special father-daughter bond plus stories about visiting the set of Mayberry and the cast members who were not like their TV characters, the release said.

Don was born Jesse Donald Knotts on July 21, 1924, in Morgantown, W.Va., to William Jesse Knotts and the former  Elsie L. Moore.

He was the youngest of four sons in a family that had been in America since the 17th century.

Don’s first stint as an entertainer was as a ventriloquist, and was paid to perform at parties and other events in Morgantown.

He decided to make a stab at a career in show business, moving to New York City after graduating from high school, but that lasted only a few weeks in the Big Apple.

Don enrolled at the West Virginia University, but when World War II engulfed America, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.

The 19-year-old soldier was assigned to the Special Services Branch, where he entertained the troops.

While in the Army, he ditched ventriloquism for straight comedy and never looked back.

Knotts died Feb. 24, 2006, at 81.

This tribute is a must see for those who first started laughing at Don when he debuted as the “nervous” guy on Steve Allen’s Tonight Show, the release said.

Or maybe it was Don as Cpl. John C. Brown in the movie “No Time for Sergeants” starring Andy Griffith.

It was the chemistry between Don and Andy that led to Don’s five Emmy Awards for Best Supporting Actor as Barney Fife on “The Andy Griffith Show.”

Don appeared in over 22 family films.
