Event # 1 – GER – Dortmund vs Bayern Munich – 12:30 PM

The first Der Klassiker of the German season takes place tomorrow when Dortmund and rivals Bayern Munich go head-to-head in an eagerly anticipated clash.

For many in Germany, the winner of Der Klassiker will determine the winner of the Bundesliga, and in recent times it’s been Bayern Munich who has dominated this fixture. Bayern Munich, the defending champions, pipped Dortmund at the finish line to win the title last season, and they enter this match unbeaten in their last nine matches but are second in the league table behind the impressive leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Bayern have won seven of their nine matches but draws against Leverkusen and RB Leipzig have slowed them down a bit. Indeed, Bayern have won three straight matches, including the 8-0 hammering they dished out on Darmstadt last weekend.

Like Bayern Munich, Dortmund is also unbeaten in the Bundesliga (along with Bayer Leverkusen), but they sit two points behind Bayern Munich ahead of this crucial clash. It has been six wins and three draws for Dortmund having gone agonisingly close to winning the title last season, and they currently sit fourth in the league. They enter this game after an entertaining 3-3 draw against Frankfurt, a result that ended their five-match win streak. Fans will indeed be treated to an entertaining match as each time these two giants collide, they normally produce a goal fest. The last time they met Bayern Munich won 4-2; however, the last time they met on Dortmund’s turf, the game ended 2-2.

Key Stats

• Dortmund – Dortmund are unbeaten in the league so far and are on a 7-game unbeaten run. However, the last time they defeated Bayern Munich was in 2018.

• Bayern Munich – Bayern Munich are unbeaten in their last 13 matches in all competitions, scoring 34 goals and conceding seven during this run – they have scored 14 goals in their last three matches.

• Both sides – Bayern Munich have won nine of the last 10 competitive games against Dortmund, with the other ending in a draw.

The betting Tip. Bayern Munich win.

Event # 2 EPL – Newcastle vs Arsenal – 12:30 PM

The standout fixture in the Premier League this weekend will see the unbeaten Arsenal travelling to St James Park to face Newcastle in another blockbuster Premier League clash. Victory for Arsenal on the road will see them moving to the top of the league and confidence is sky high as they enter this match off a 5-0 mauling of Sheffield United last weekend, with Eddie Eketiah scoring his first Premier League hat-trick for Arsenal. Newcastle will present a true test to Arsenal’s title credentials as they remain one of only two unbeaten teams left in the league, alongside leaders Tottenham Hotspurs.

Newcastle was the Premier League surprise side last season, having qualified for the Champions League for the first time in over a decade. They have started the new campaign in solid form, winning five of their nine matches so far but currently sit outside the Champions League places. With that said, Newcastle will provide a stern test for Arsenal as at home they have proved difficult to beat, winning six of their eight matches in all competitions, while scoring 18 times and conceding just five goals. However, their progress has been checked by two, 2-2 draws on the road at West Ham and Wolves, respectively.

Key Stats

• Newcastle – Newcastle have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five matches in all competitions.

•Arsenal – Arsenal remain one of two sides with unbeaten record in the Premier League and have won three of their last five matches.

•Both sides – Newcastle’s record in this fixture leaves a lot to be desired as they have lost 21 of the last 27 head-to-head meetings against Arsenal across all competitions.

The betting Tip. Arsenal win or Draw.
