HOUSTON – Freshman Nina Skoric notched two of the University of Houston Tennis program’s three combined wins at the Rice Invite on Saturday morning.
Sonya Kovalenko earned the third win as she picked up a singles victory at the Texas A&M Fall Invitational.
RICE INVITATIONAL
Skoric and Blanca Cortijo Parreno defeated Rachel Hermanova and Sunskrithi Damera of Western Kentucky, 6-4, for Houston’s fourth doubles victory of the weekend.
Skoric earned her second singles win of the weekend as she defeated Western Kentucky’s Mariana Zegada, 6-3, 6-2.
TEXAS A&M INVITATIONAL
Kovalenko defeated No. 3 Texas A&M’s Sydney Fitch, 6-4, 3-6, 7(4)-6, in a hard fought, back-and-forth battle for Houston’s lone win in College Station, Texas.
