Travis Kelce steals spotlight from brother Jason on new Christmas … – Marca

On Wednesday, Travis Kelce made his much-anticipated music debut, but not without ruffling a few Philadelphia Eagles feathers.

The Kansas City Chiefs star joined his brother, Jason Kelce, a lineman for the Eagles, on a new Christmas song duet called “Fairytale of Philadelphia,” one of the singles for the Eagles second annual holiday album, A Philly Special Christmas.

Travis and Jason will be rivals on Monday Night Football

Jason’s Eagles teammates Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson are his partners on the album. In an animated video on the album’s official Instagram page that shared a snippet of the song before its release, they say, “We’re going to let a Chief steal the show? Hell no!!!”

The 7-2 Chiefs host the 8-1 Eagles this week in the so-called “Kelce Bowl” on Monday Night Football. It is also a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl, which the Chiefs won, 38-35, so the Eagles have revenge on their minds, even if they let a member of their famous foe on their Christmas album.

Along with a sneak peek of the track is a clip of Jason and Travis singing as wooden figurines – dressed in their holiday best – while the Eagles players look on in jealousy.

During the performance, Travis affectionately sings to Jason, “You are handsome.” Jason playfully replies, “And you’re pretty,” followed by the younger Kelce declaring, “You’re the king of South Philly.”

When does A Philly Special Christmas come out?

Scheduled for release on Friday, December 1, A Philly Special Christmas serves as a sequel to the team’s 2022 album, which successfully raised over $1 million for local charities. The collaborative effort by Jason and his Eagles teammates Mailata and Johnson includes a special feature with Patti LaBelle. Earlier this month, the trio unveiled their rendition of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

Will Taylor Swift be on the Kelce Christmas album?

During an October segment on the Today show promoting the album, Jason said the idea of having Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift, join in for a song would be “pretty incredible.” However, he hinted that fans would have to wait for that possibility, stating, “Not this one, not this time around. … Maybe in the future.”

In a recent episode of the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast, Travis disclosed that he contributed his vocals to the duet with Jason but confessed that he hasn’t listened to the final version. “Dude, I do not want to hear myself sing like that,” he admitted.
