If so, WCAX-TV, the news leader in Burlington, Vermont, has an immediate opening for an evening Executive Producer. We need a leader with strong news judgment and organizational skills who can help turn the newsroom vision into compelling newscasts for our three-hour evening news block.Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:- Oversight of the preparation of rundowns for evening newscasts- Working with the assistant news director and assignment manager to coordinate coverage over multiple hours- Leading afternoon editorial meetings and reviewing rundowns- Ensuring high production values in all newscasts- Working with operations manager and newscast directors on all presentation aspects of newscasts- Assisting show producers in writing, graphic creation and reviewing content to minimize errors- Coaching producers, reporters, and photojournalists- Responding to breaking news- Oversight of digital response to breaking news- Writing compelling news stories- Line producing newscasts when needed- Posting stories and video on website and on mobile, as needed- Contributing story ideas in morning editorial meetingsQualifications/Requirements:- Minimum of two years producing experience.- Should have demonstrated experience in writing and be able to think visually.- Possess outstanding communication skills, writing ability and news judgment- Ability to multi-task and coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously.- Creative presentation style, and ability to showcase all resources and elements- Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standardsInterested applicants can go to
