Foothills Council names girls’ tennis all-stars, Amsterdam’s Jaracz … – The Daily Gazette


Amsterdam’s Joanna Jaracz was the lone area selection on the recently announced Foothills Council girls’ tennis all-star team.

Queensbury, which won the league title with a 12-0 record, had Nicole Greenstein, Lindsey Pepe and Tessa Murray. The Spartans, who also reached the Section II Class A final had Flavia Brizzi and Maria Conway named honorable mention. Queensbury finished its season with a 15-3 overall record.

Scotia-Glenville’s Isabel Amurao and Emma Klejsmyt also earned first-team honors, along with South Glens Falls’ Emily Kamber and Hudson Falls’ Maddie Sawyer.

Scotia-Glenville reached the Class A semifinals, while Hudson Falls was a Class B finalist.

Scotia-Glenville, which went 10-2 in Foothills play and 13-4 overall, also had Lillian Liberatore named honorable mention.

Greenwich, which won the Section II Class C/D title, had Esther Moore, Julie Nolan and Maddie Curley named honorable mention.

South Glens Falls’ Peyton Howk and Hudson Falls’ Maggie Traver and Caliegh Zahaba rounded out the honorable-mention selections.
