For the 30th year, The Future of Pittsburgh Ball will be raised and fireworks will light up the sky as the city rings in a new year with Highmark First Night Pittsburgh 2024.The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust unveiled this year’s plans on Wednesday.Watch last year’s First Night festivities in the video player above“Artists lead the way at Highmark First Night Pittsburgh,” said the cultural trust’s Sarah Aziz. “Their work helps us reflect on the past year and consider the possibilities in the year ahead. Exploring art in the Cultural District has proven to be an incredible New Year’s Eve tradition in our region.””The Goddaughter of Soul” and Pittsburgh native Lyndsey Smith will headline the performance on the Highmark stage. Pittsburgh’s reggae-rockers The Flow Band and the Zuzu African Acrobats will warm up the stage earlier in the evening. The evening will culminate with the countdown to midnight.
