Women’s Tennis Unveils 2024 Schedule – Elon University Athletics – Elon University Athletics

ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women’s tennis team and head coach Elizabeth Anderson announced the program’s 2024 spring schedule on Tuesday. 
 
The Phoenix will play 22 regular season matches, 14 of which will take place at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. Elon will also host the 2024 CAA Women’s Tennis Tournament for the sixth time in April.

“The team worked extremely hard this fall and gained a lot of momentum as we head into the spring,” Anderson said. “We are looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead that will prepare us for the CAA tournament in April.”
 
Elon opens the season Jan. 13 on the road against North Carolina, the defending NCAA national champions. The maroon and gold will then host Longwood in its home opener on Jan. 19 before playing a pair of matches against Georgia Southern and North Florida in Jacksonville on Jan. 27-28. 
 
After returning from Florida, the Phoenix begins its longest homestand of the season, with six straight contests at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center from Feb. 9-25. Following a road match against Davidson on March 2, Elon then hosts another four consecutive matches from March 6-13, capped by a bout with CAA foe Campbell. 
 

Elon will then play three straight road matches, beginning with East Carolina on March 15. The Phoenix will take on Wake Forest in a night match in Winston-Salem on March 22 before facing another CAA opponent in College of Charleston on March 26.
 
To begin April, Elon will host a pair of matches on April 6-7 against UNCW and VCU. A visit to William & Mary on April 13 concludes Elon’s road slate before the Phoenix will conclude the regular season on Senior Day against North Carolina A&T on April 19. 
 
For the second time in the last three years, Elon will host the CAA Women’s Tennis Tournament at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. The event is scheduled for April 24-28 and all 13 CAA teams will compete. The Phoenix reached the championship match the last time it was played at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center in 2022.
