Lunin—9: Made huge stops against Isco, Ayoze Perez, and Willian Jose to save Madrid’s blushes on some error-prone defending. Growing in confidence with each passing game. Distribution was quick and simple — exactly what is expected from the keeper.
Lucas Vazquez—5: Still lacks match rhythm and slowed the game down on too many occasions.
Toni Rudiger—8.5: Once again a colossal at the back — his moment of the match was a sequence with Abde near Madrid’s right corner flag where the German flattened the youngster, cleanly, and went about distributing the ball and barking orders.
David Alaba—6: Most of Betis’ best opportunities came from the left half space and inside the left central portion of the box. Struggled to plug gaps with a tiring midfield but was solid in possession.
Ferland Mendy—6: A few heavy touches but overall continues to improve as he plays more matches.
Toni Kroos—6: Passing was world class as always, but tired as the game opened up in the second half and had trouble plugging the gaps.
Fede Valverde—5: Looked fatigue despite a week’s rest and failed to impose himself.
Jude Bellingham—8.5: Another brilliant goal with a brilliant run. Made countless off ball runs into the box throughout the match and was finally rewarded in the second half. His game was more than just the goal. Had 3 key passes including some reverse passes to slip through Brahim and Lucas in the first half. Also finished the game with some silky troubles (three total) and drew three fouls, two near the top of the box.
Brahim—7: Played more as a right midfielder than a forward tonight and tracked back well defensively. Produced the chip assist for Bellingham’s goal.
Luka Modric—5: For the first time since 2018, is beginning to look his age. Is that down to lack of match rhythm or truly a sign of the veterans years in the game?
Rodrygo—9: Sensational performance — simply destroyed Aitor Rubial and every Betis defender was left in his wake. His dribbling was on another level: attempted 15 and completed 10, the most of any player in any competition for Real Madrid this season. Was clearly fouled inside the box early in the game but the call was not given or even reviewed by VAR.
