Harry Kane
Club: Bayern Munich

Kane ended the year as he started the season at his new club – among the goals. The England striker scored his 22nd goal of the season on the first match after the winter break as Bayern beat Hoffenheim 2-0. Kane has only failed to find the back of the net in three of Bayern’s 16 fixtures. Among his haul are three braces and three hat-tricks, putting him firmly on course to break Robert Lewandowski’s single-season record of 41 goals.

Serhou Guirassy 
Club: VfB Stuttgart
Position: Striker

Guirassy was on a league-leading 14 goals after only seven games, smashing Lewandowski’s previous best of 11 at that juncture. He hit five multiples in that time, including two hat-tricks, before missing a couple of games through injury. The Stuttgart No.9 is currently just five behind Kane, though, after scoring a further three goals between Matchdays 11-16. However, he may lose more ground while away at the Africa Cup of Nations across January and February.

Loïs Openda
Club: RB Leipzig
Position: Striker

Loïs Openda had big shoes to fill at Leipzig following Nkunku’s move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window, but he’s made it look easy. The Belgium international has gone from strength to strength since scoring on his Bundesliga debut, with back-to-back braces on Matchdays 8 and 9 contributing to an impressive return of 11 goals after 17 games. That’s only five short of Nkunku’s joint-leading tally of 2022/23!

Victor Boniface
Club: Bayer Leverkusen
Position: Striker
Goals: 10
Appearances: 16

Another new face in the Bundesliga, another smash hit. Victor Boniface’s 10 goals have helped Bayer Leverkusen make a record-breaking, unbeaten, table-topping start to 2023/24. The Nigerian has also scooped four straight Rookie awards for his efforts. A groin injury is expected to keep him out until April, however.

Deniz Undav
Club: VfB Stuttgart
Position: Striker
Goals: 9
Appearances: 14

Once Guirassy’s able deputy, now his right-hand man, Deniz Undav is on a roll for Stuttgart. The Brighton and Hove Albion loanee brought up his ninth goal in his last 11 games in the win over Augsburg on Matchday 16. The Bundesliga’s November Player of the Month has also served up a couple of braces since making his injury-delayed Bundesliga debut on Matchday 4.

Jonas Wind
Club: Wolfsburg
Position: Striker
Goals: 9
Appearances: 17

Jonas Wind set the tone by scoring all four of Wolfsburg’s goals across the opening two matchdays. The Dane produced his third brace of the campaign against Eintracht Frankfurt, having also found the net at home to Union Berlin two weeks earlier. He has, however, struck just twice in 11 games since.
