MEN’S TENNIS FALLS AT SAINT FRANCIS, 5-2 – Le Moyne College Athletics

Altoona, Pa. – The Le Moyne College men’s tennis team was upended by Saint Francis University, 5-2, on Sunday in Northeast Conference action at the Gorilla House Gym.
The Red Flash claimed the point in the doubles competition. At the second position, Marc Fuste and Gregory Troyan recorded a 6-4 victory over graduate students Luka Stojanovic (Paracin, Serbia/Kosta Cukic/University of Incarnate Word/Lipscomb) and Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City). Alan Gonzalez and Matt Kozar posted a 6-1 win at the third spot over graduate student Rodrigo Beires (Porto, Portugal/Agrupamento de Escolas Garcia de Orta/Universidade Portucalense) and freshman Yegor Boyev (London, England/Ashcroft Technology Academy). Junior Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) and graduate student Alvaro Nunez (Jerez De La Frontera, Spain/IES Padre Luis Coloma/Southwest Baptist) tallied a 7-6 victory at the first position over Mathis Tremblay and Tyler Nguyen.
Saint Francis claimed wins at four of the six singles matches to secure the victory. Nguyen registered a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win at the second position over Stojanovic. Tremblay rallied at the fourth spot to defeat Piekarek, 6-7, 6-1, 6-4. Patrick Reese posted the victory at the fifth position, 6-4, 6-7, 10-7, over Beires. Troyan won at the sixth spot over Boyev, 6-4, 6-3. At the first position, Hatton rallied for a 6-7, 6-2, 6-1 victory over Fuste. Nunez claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win over Gonzalez at the third spot.
Le Moyne (3-3, 0-2 NEC) is back in action on Saturday at FDU at 8:30 p.m. at Bogota Racquet Club in Bogota, N.J.
