DAYTON – The University of Dayton men’s tennis team has three home matches on the docket this weekend, hosting Tennessee State on Saturday, Feb. 24 and both Saint Francis (Pa.) and Thomas More on Sunday, Feb. 25 at the South Regency Tennis Center.
Saturday’s match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., while Sunday’s action begins against Saint Francis (Pa.) at 9 a.m. and concludes with Thomas More at 3 p.m.
The Flyers are looking to snap a three-match losing streak, most recently falling in a pair of matches against No. 6 Kentucky in the middle of the week. It was announced Thursday that Dayton was selected to finish second in the Atlantic 10 by the coaches this season, and fifth-year seniors Connor Bruce and Matt DeMarco, as well as freshman Luis Saraiva, were named Preseason All-Atlantic 10.
Tennessee State is 1-7 on the season and has lost back-to-back matches. The Tigers will also take on Northern Kentucky while visiting the Miami Valley, taking on the Norse Friday night.
Saint Francis (Pa.) is also taking on Northern Kentucky this weekend prior to playing the Flyers, battling with the Norse on Saturday. The Red Flash are 3-2 overall on the season.
Thomas More has played only three matches thus far in the season, compiling a 1-2 record. The Saints are a NCAA Division II school out of Kentucky whose two losses are both to Division I teams, Southern Indiana and Lindenwood, while the win came over NAIA Shawnee State.
