The Detroit Red Wings picked up a much-needed two points on Thursday night against a very good hockey team, they also got some help as the teams they needed to lose did with the Lightning losing to the Capitals and the Devils losing to the Rangers. They now hold a six-point advantage over the teams outside of the playoff picture and currently hold the top Wild Card spot by one point over the Lightning. This weekend they have a back-to-back and need to find a way to come out of it with a minimum of two points if not three, they have a really good shot at doing so if they continue playing the way they have as of late.
