Jacq of All Trades… Axelle Jacquemin Claims Program’s First LSC Weekly Honor – Lubbock Christian University Athletics
RICHARDSON, Texas (February 28, 2024) – Axelle Jacquemin made history Wednesday, as she became the first Lubbock Christian University women’s tennis student-athlete to claim Lone Star Conference Player of the Week accolades.
Jacquemin was vital in a pair of duals against Division II squads, as she had the clinching match win in singles (both three-set wins) to claim 4-3 victories this past weekend in the Dallas area. LCU used her clinching wins to claim a 4-3 win Friday over Harding in Dallas and a 4-3 win Saturday over Metropolitan State of Denver in Frisco, Texas. On the week, she went 2-0 in singles at the No.3-singles position and 1-1 in doubles playing alongside Anastasiia Opolska.
The sophomore from Belgium, who prepped at Wichita Falls Rider (Wichita Falls, Texas), is 11-6 this season in singles (6-1 in duals) and has a team-leading 14-3 record in doubles (6-1 in duals doubles) playing with Opolska.
Jacquemin and the Lady Chaps are a perfect 9-0 in duals this season. They return to the Dallas area again this week to face Southern Arkansas Friday morning (10 a.m.) in Midlothian, Texas and Southeastern Oklahoma State Saturday in Dallas (2 p.m.).
