Men’s tennis drops 5-2 decision at Division II Saint Michael’s – Hamilton College
COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael’s College picked up four team points in singles play and the Purple Knights defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 5-2 at Saint Michael’s Tarrant Recreation Center on Tuesday, March 5.
Hamilton’s 2023 NCAA championships participant and regionally ranked singles player, Connor Griff ’25, didn’t compete against the Division II Purple Knights. The Continentals (1-1 overall) host Wesleyan University for a NESCAC match and SUNY Oneonta in non-conference action on Sunday, March 10.
Tarun Korwar ’27 was a winner in both singles and doubles play for Hamilton. Korwar teamed up with Anson Anderson ’26 for the first time and cruised 6-1 at first flight doubles. Anderson’s doubles record this season is 10-4.
Korwar improved his singles record to 8-2 with a win in straight sets at second flight. Gianni Esposito ’24 rallied for a three-set victory at sixth flight singles. Esposito improved his record to 2-0 this spring and 18-16 for his collegiate career.
