Chris Paul Made NBA History In Warriors-Hornets Game – Sports Illustrated


On Friday evening, the Golden State Warriors are playing the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina.

During the game, Chris Paul made NBA history by moving ahead of Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler (22,195) for 36th on the all-time scoring list.

Following Drexler, the next player for Paul to pass will be Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor (23,149).

Via The Golden State Warriors: “Chris Paul has passed Clyde Drexler for 36th most points in NBA history.”

Paul is one of the greatest point guards of all-time and will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day.

At 38, he is still a productive player and came into the evening with averages of 9.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 37.8% from the three-point range in 48 games.

The Warriors are the tenth seed in the Western Conference and are 38-34 in 72 games.

They have gone 5-5 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

Most recently, the Warriors beat the Orlando Magic by a score of 101-93 (in Florida).

Following their showdown with the Hornets, they will travel to Texas to face off against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday evening.

Paul is in his 19th season in the league and has also spent time playing for the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Pheonix Suns, Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.

He is as 12-time NBA All-Star.
